Too tall for the children’s menu

June 5, 2009

The proprietors of the Angel Chef, a Chinese restaurant in Gloucester, must have taken it literally when they heard the phrase “you’ve got hollow legs” in reference to hearty eaters.  Instead of defining “child” by age, as is generally the case, they chose to do so by height.  Clearly those gangly pre-teens are going to take a lot of filling up.

I think a protest is in order.  All the parents of short, rotund children, tiny children with intestinal worms, under 8s football teams and whole gaggles of miniature gastronomes should head to the Angel Chef and encourage their offspring to eat their body weight in sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, fried rice and beef in black bean sauce.

The upside? At least this kid will be able to go on all the rides at the funfair at Butlins.
